Luxurious Italian Villas

I Am Love was a 2009 Italian film directed by Luca Guadagnino set around 2000 in Milan. The film follows a haute bourgeoisie family through changing times and fortunes. The wealthy Recchi family are first and second-generation textile manufacturers in Milan and Eduardo Sr., the family patriarch, has decided to name a successor to the reins of his massive industrial company, and in so doing, surprises everyone by splitting power between his son Tancredi and grandson Edo.  The movie features some beyond beautiful interiors which have both a Regency element to them with some underpinnings of Art Deco influences.  Many of the scenes were shot in Villa Necchi Campiglio, a 1930s mansion in the heart of Milan designed by architect Piero Portaluppi. Tilda Swinton states in the DVD commentary to the movie that the villa was perfect because they were looking for a house “that was part palace, part museum, and part prison.”   I think you will be blown away by the wood veneer walls, marble floors and drop dead
