Linen sofas are the perfect back drop to adding silk and shine.  The wonderful contrast of a simple plain couch gives homeowners the opportunity to change with the times and the freedom to mix things up a bit just by changing the throw pillows.  I would highly suggest buying a couch with natural earth colors, and jazzing it up with color with throws and accessories.   The zebra cowhide rug here, adds more depth and pattern to the space.

This simple black colonial office desk, and white upholstered wing back  chair give the freedom to add in pattern.  The black damask drapes and yellow floral give a breath of fresh air to the wall color and white and black elements in the room.

Blue is brought in as the accessory to this room, but it also is the spotlight in the room!  Color can give that extra punch to the earth tone colors.  The bamboo roman shades and tan paint wall color and cream sofa add elements of interest, while the blue patterns distinguish the style and direction of the room.

This is an outstanding room of sophiscated style.  The regency style is shown in the trellis fabric window panels drapes, and the roman shades.

The natural wood bed push for warmth in this room amongt the natural colors.  The lattice wood nightstands create an open feel in the room allowing the homeowner to display collections of books and accessories.  This room features brown, white, gray, and black bedroom colors with ivory cream paint wall colors.

Zebra cowhide rugs add pattern into the room, and add a bit of a shape to the floor.  The soft tan beige paint wall color works well with the black and brown combinations in the room.

This trellis fabric panels are a signature design when creating a Regency period room.  The turquoise blue painted desk is a genious color as it is the show stopper of the entire room.  The perfect combination blue and orange are on the  oppsite sides of the color wheel giving that designer feel to this room.

Antiques are often the only affordable way of getting the more expensive woods into a room.  Todays furniture doesn't have the rich woods in design and detail that antiques often do.

White & black Greek key cornice boxes is another Regency signature style.  Regency often copied Roman, Egyptian and Greek elements to make up their designs.   Layering the 2 rugs is another layering technique to add dimention and interest.   Photo Credit Desire to Inspire
