Chinese chippendale chairs will never go out of style. The ornate design is something that has captured the attention of people throughout all generations. It has been called the perfect accent accessory chair for any room. This popular chair of the 70's is making its way back into the home once again, but it begs the question if it ever left. These chairs were designed in a time where the oriental styles as well as the french rococo designs were the design of the day. In 1754 cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale came forth with the orginal chippendale lattice mahogany chair. He was by far one of the most talented designers of his day. Chippendale's designs fall into three main styles: Gothic, Rococo, and Chinese. Thomas Chippendale blended all these style elements into one unified design and produced this chair. The term "chippendale" refers to English furniture of the 1750s with a particular Rococo edge. Today chippendale chairs have gained popularity once again, often seen in bright painted colors for whimsical and modern looks.

I have 6 of these chairs from the early 1970′s. Mine are black with grey seats. I am in Denver, CO. They are in excellent condition and not faux. They look identical to last photo above entitled Black dining table with faux bamboo chairs and to the ones entitled Jonathan Adler Elle Decor Yelow Chinese Fhippendal Chairs above.
I am interested in the chairs that Susan Sandoz has for sale.
How do I get in touch with her? Thank you
Lisa,
Ebay is the best outlet for looking for specific chairs like these. Other than 1st dibs, ebay would be the best suggestion

Jennifer, I would check on ebay for these chinese chippendale chairs. They can sell for really low prices. The trick is to check every day. They could also be listed as faux bamboo chairs. I would give that a try. Meranda
I have been craving these chairs for years, and now I am the proud owner of a set of four! Yeah!
